About the Winery
In the Sierra Foothills of El Dorado County, a long and scenic historic trail creates a border between the gold rush town of Placerville and the adjoining county of Amador. The founding fathers call it appropriately Pleasant Valley. Holly’s Hill Vineyards found at the eastern end of this 12 mile rift sits on a meandering hill with gracious views. The winery specializes in producing Rhone varietal wines. In fact, the estate vineyards are composed entirely of Rhone varieties including Viognier, Roussanne, Grenache, Mourvedre, Syrah, and Counoise. The winery produces varietal wines, a dry Rosé, and red and white blends. Owners Tom and Holly Cooper enthusiasm for Rhone varieties started when they shared their first bottle of Chateauneuf du Pape on their honeymoon. It’s been a love affair ever since.
